Craster
The structure and layout of this garden has remained as it has done for many years but we did a complete overhaul of the planting and restored some existing features such as the original sleeper timber paths that we refreshed with gravel and Everedge. We supplied a brand new planting plan for the whole garden which has breathed life into all of the borders. We have taken inspiration from classic coastal garden planting and added in species such as Kniphofia, Phlomis and Nepeta. The priority was to make sure there was a range of different shapes and textures in the planting. This was to ensure it would go on long into winter in the form of seed heads and grasses. We planted in large drifts for maximum impact but low maintenance. This garden has all the expected conditions of a coastal garden with dry soil, wind exposure and salty air. All plants were carefully selected with this in mind.
